Game Description & Reviews:
Bhujerba rates this game: 5/5This game is awesome. Old school rpg with sky pirates, discoveries, and world saving. Good plot for story with a bit of comedy at some points. Hours of fun and sky traveling. One of the best rpg i ever played.
Has two kinds of combat system. One for personal combat and one for ship combat. There are party members for combat and some for the ship, much like Suikoden from PSX. It's important to keep track of the enemies elemental weaknesses and to switch the elements of the weapons inside combat.
There's an invisible atribute of Vyse fame with the dialogue choices within the storyline that chance his titles.

Skies of Arcadia follows the adventure of a young pirate, Vash, after an attack on his home town and continues as he does amazing feats that get him notice in the public eye. This game is unique in several ways. The first being that the world of Arcadia is composed of floating islands. There is no water to sail, so the ships take battle in the air. Another noticeable aspect is that the magic abilities used in the game are based on what moonstones you currently have equipped. Moonstones are the source of power in the game that allow the ship to fly (luckily, you don't need to go hunting any down.) and determine your weapons elemental attributes. Moonstones are one of the various moons in Arcadia that govern the nation affiliated with them As well, after making an attack in the land battle system, the characters change positions before the next phase, requiring constant change in tactics.
One last noticeable trait is the ship combat system. As it flies, it can either put you at a tactical advantage or sever disadvantage. Tactics are a key piece in the game, but it makes this game more fun and increases the playability. Even if tactical RPG's are not your thing, this is a game to keep for the records.

Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.I have never played this game, but I'd like to despite it's rarity and high price (hey, I got Eternal Darkness for Christmas, with luck, I'll be able to get this one day). But for those who did play it, which did you think was better?
I've heard that, at least for the western versions, the GameCube version is the best due to lower encounter rate (DC version having it frustrangly high) and more content, as well as it being squeezed on one TINY disc compared to two big ones. The only time where it's not (outside of sound issues with the music) is because the Japanese version was censored similarly to the American release on both systems, unlike the Japanese Dreamcast version.
Which did you like better?
